The wait is finally over! We are proud to present the C8 Tuner. Finally, you can enjoy the ability to modify your C8 or "un-tunable" late model GM vehicle.
The primary function of C8 Tuner is to allow you to adjust the mass airflow in real-time. As you make adjustments using our software, you can see it affect fuel trims immediately! We have modeled the MAF curve and created a table replicating that model in the software to make it easy to visualize your table from idle to wide-open throttle. Live data is also available so you can view runs in the software and export that data as well. For ignition adjustments, you can use our mass airflow (or load) based table allowing you to adjust ignition timing as airflow or load increases. This is especially useful with boosted applications.
To improve shift quality while using paddles, C8 Tuner features programmable ignition cuts for upshifts. This reduces the load on the gearbox during shifts and allows for quicker and "crisper" shifts. You can ramp the ignition cuts based on time after the paddle is struck and after the shift is complete.

You may be wondering, how does C8 Tuner affect the factory ECU? C8 Tuner works in conjunction with the factory ECU and utilizes data from sensors to modify that data outputted to the ECU. For example, if you are watching data at idle and see fuel trims (percentage adjustment ECU is making to correct air-fuel ratios) are negative ten percent, then you can use our tool to correct the airflow the ECU is seeing to get fuel trims to zero, or close to it. You would do this by adjusting that range of the MAF curve and reducing the airflow value outputted to the ECU by 10%. This is necessary if you have installed new components which affect the airflow characteristics coming into the engine. This is re-calibrating the mass airflow curve. The great thing about the tool is if you return your car to stock, you can remove C8 Tuner and the ECU will function just as it did from the factory.
C8 Tuner is designed to work in conjunction with components such as the Sensor Tap from Dash Logic if you are requiring relocation of the barometric (baro) pressure sensor or IAT out of the airstream due to blow through setups or boost going across the mass airflow sensor (baro is integrated into the MAF from the factory).
It's important to note, we originally designed C8 Tuner to be used with boosted applications, so we have focused functions to be best suited for that to this point. That being said, we have tested some in naturally aspirated scenarios. If you have added a different intake tube, intake manifold, throttle body etc. your fuel trims will likely be off due to these modifications. You can use C8 Tuner to correct fuel trims and optimize the car. C8 Tuner currently does not have provisions for eliminating displacement on demand, so if you are installing a camshaft, you will need to retain that function. Otherwise, you can also use C8 Tuner to dial in for your camshaft. Currently, we cannot add additional idle airflow. Additional idle airflow will not be required with most cams which retain DOD anyway. That being said, by correcting the MAF calibration, you will usually experience improved idle quality regardless. If you want to add more cubic inches and/or stroke your engine, you will be limited in what stroke you can run due to the factory oil pan design (we are working with ARE to release a dry sump system). If you port your heads, you can also use C8 Tuner to correct trims/airflow and reduce timing if need be for higher compression.

All kits come with a powder coated mounting plate which places the components in the tunnel of the car utilizing the same mounting point as the factory ECU. Additional components include a Lingenfelter LNC 2014 control module (dependent on option selected), Unique Sensor Tap from Dash Logic designed to be used with C8 Tuner, and all harnesses and associated connectors for plug and play action!

We currently are installing and using these kits in cars at our shop and they are working well. We are just adding a few functionality items before officially releasing the product.
Please specify what you will be controlling with our 12V out function i.e. nitrous or methanol when you place your order.
If you are planning to make more than 800 horsepower or over 14 PSI of boost, please specify this when you place your order so we can give you provisions for a harder ignition cut on upshifts while using paddles.
If you want to make over roughly 600 rwhp (depending on dyno) you may need to add an auxiliary fuel source i.e. direct port methanol system (we use Pro Meth available on our website as well). You may also elect to run a port injection system with different fuel rails and injectors etc. If you do so, you would need a controller which can take over the port injectors. We can assist you with this if you give us a call or email us. We will be developing a solution which integrates port injection control as well.
C8 Tuner does NOT give you access to modifying diagnostic trouble codes.
For best results using the tool, you will need to use a datalogging tool which can read additional parameters from the CANBUS via the DLC (OBD port). If you do not have a tool to do so, select our “enhanced logging device” when you place your order.
